The DFW AFCOM chapter supports area data center professionals with information and opportunities for interaction among their peers. Our chapter has a fairly even mix of end-users and vendor members.
We ask all vendors to bring an end-user guest and provide input in a vendor-neutral manner. The meetings are intended to provide pertinent and timely information as well as a great networking opportunity. AFCOM is the only association dedicated to providing education and resources for professionals who support the data center as well as for data center managers.
Our mission is to enable data center professionals to share industry best practices by providing a forum for the dissemination of critical information and to provide education on key data center issues.

Chapter History
At the 1991 annual conference in Las Vegas, a small group of Operations Managers from Texas took time out “from the slot machines” to discuss the formation of a Dallas/Ft. Worth area chapter. This turned out to be an unofficial board meeting, as they reviewed the AFCOM procedures for chapter applications, and developed a slate of board members. Back in sunny Dallas on April 24th, the board met at ARCO and solidified its plan. The first general meeting of the DFW chapter was set for June at the Dallas Infomart with the topic being “Automated Operations”. The DFW chapter became “official” in July of 1991. Over the years, the chapter has enjoyed growth and strong vendor support looking for ways to meet the needs of DFW’s IT Managers for the new millennium. We continue to bring our members the latest information on leading edge technology.
